Delta Oaks Group is seeking an individual to help lead the Geotechnical Department in the telecommunication and commercial industries. Positional responsibilities, further detailed below, include but are not limited to various technical evaluations, project management, client management, and administrative support services associated with turnkey engineering projects. This position will require a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the geotechnical engineering field, demonstrated experience performing geotechnical investigations and analysis, and experience managing engineering teams. Career and/or educational experience establishing a thorough familiarity of geotechnical investigations, as well as, design and analysis of telecommunications structures and/or commercial developments is required.

The Geotechnical Department Manager provides management, leadership, mentoring and empowerment to all employees within the geotechnical department, promoting teamwork and prioritizing resources across teams and projects to ensure department profitability and growth. They are responsible for coordinating with the Vice President to develop technical and operational approaches for production processes, implementing these procedures, and ensuring the efficiency and quality of departmental deliverables. The Geotechnical Department Manager will assist the Director and/or Vice President in developing and managing systems that track departmental production and maximize productivity.

The Geotechnical Department Manager is responsible for assisting the Director and/or Vice President in recruiting, managing, and retaining department personnel, including ensuring that their team has the right processes and tools to be successful. Additionally, they will be responsible for assisting the Director and/or Vice President with the oversight of technical evaluations, project management, client management, and administrative support services associated with departmental projects. Anticipated tasks include, but are not limited to:

      • Manages and coordinates all aspects of geotechnical production, including the review and further development of standard operating procedures for department deliverables
      • Accountable for daily performance of departmental production, including technical accuracy and pacing
      • Effectively communicate departmental production expectations and track departmental/individual progress towards productivity goals
      • Assist the Director and/or Vice President in providing technical oversight and quality control of all departmental deliverables, providing coaching/training as necessary to improve delivered product, and serving as one of the lead technical resources for junior engineers
      • Review/compile department deliverables, including but not limited to geotechnical investigations, supplemental geotechnical reviews, and foundation installation inspections
      • Assist the Director and/or Vice President in reviewing production costs, product quality, and modifies production processes to maintain and enhance profitable operation of the geotechnical department
      • Work in concert with other discipline leads to improve product quality through interdepartmental communication and sharing of technical knowledge
      • Promote client revenue growth by working collaboratively across business (technical) lines to understand client needs and facilitate turn-key service offerings

Geotechnical Engineer II

Delta Oaks Group is seeking an individual to perform various geotechnical engineering services. These services include but are not limited to various technical evaluations as well as project management/administrative support services associated with the practice of geotechnical engineering. This position will require four (4) to seven (7) years of experience within the geotechnical or similar engineering field. Experience with deep and shallow foundations, laboratory soil analyses, and technical reports issuance with limited supervision is required.

Under the supervision of senior engineering professionals, the selected individual will be expected to apply strong analytical skills in areas of geotechnical engineering across multiple markets, including the commercial and telecommunications industries. Anticipated tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate with geotechnical drilling subcontractors to complete the field aspect of a geotechnical investigation
  • Perform soil/rock classifications and laboratory analysis for use in geotechnical engineering analysis across multiple markets, including the commercial and telecommunications industries
  • Perform field resistivity testing; foundation and foundation modification installation monitoring and inspection; hand auger and dynamic cone penetrometer testing; and field logging of soils (when necessary)

Delta Oaks Group is seeking an individual to perform various civil-site engineering and site planning tasks, including but not limited to spatial infrastructure layout, grading plans, roadway plan and profile, utility layout and coordination, and erosion control typically associated with telecommunication sites and small commercial site development plans. The ability to manage a project from feasibility assessment through the issuance of a building permit, including correspondence with project stakeholders, subcontractors, and client representatives is required. Additionally, experience and/or knowledge of general grading, stormwater design principles, and an ability to evaluate the relationship between civil infrastructure and grading/topography, drainage patterns, geologic conditions, and erosion is required.

The selected individual will be expected lead projects from commencement to completion, including the ability to:

  • Develop site plans for telecommunication and small commercial developments including overall site layouts, grading plans, erosion and sediment control plans, plan and elevation views, utility plans, etc.
  • Manage civil-site development projects from commencement through final permit approval with little to no supervision

Delta Oaks Group is seeking Field Engineers to be responsible for gathering and reporting structural field data for telecommunication structures. The selected individual(s) will be required to perform inspections as a part of a two-person team. Anticipated tasks include but are not limited to:

          • Ascending telecommunication structures (typically ranging from 10 feet to in-excess of 300 feet of height) to perform structural mappings, maintenance inspections and construction inspections
          • Performing foundation investigations for existing foundation elements including non- destructive testing applications
          • Prepare and review technical reports associated with tower and tower foundation structural components
          • Collaborate with internal CAD personnel regarding details of collected data and the necessary presentation of said data
          • Successfully complete and maintain the required training and certifications to adhere to all government, industry and company standards; including all applicable safety requirements
          • Developing a technical knowledge of tower components and thorough familiarity with industry codes and standards relating to telecommunication structures, including TIA/EIA-222 requirements

Project Manager - Environmental

Delta Oaks Group is seeking an individual to support our A&E, Civil and Environmental Department on projects in the telecommunications and commercial sectors. Candidates will be assisting with multiple day-to-day operations of specific engineering projects related to our Civil and Environmental engineering team, including the completion of various environmental reports, coordination with environmental and surveying subcontractor partners, project schedule tracking and adherence, project set up, and tracking/maintaining subcontractor data. Career and/or educational experience should establish a familiarity with typical life-cycle and task progression for environmental and civil projects, environmental report (NEPA, Phase I, FAA/FCC, etc.) completion and/or coordination, and pre-requisite data requirements regarding project management aspects of projects related to the environmental and/or civil engineering sciences.

The Project Manager will assist department management and engineers with the day-to-day aspects of A&E, Civil and Environmental Department operations. The selected candidate will be expected to manage the life-cycle of environmental tasks from scoping through project completion with minimal oversight, including coordination with clients, coordination with environmental and surveying subcontractor partners, technical report completion, and project schedule tracking and adherence. Career and/or educational experience should establish a familiarity with typical life-cycle and task progression for environmental and civil projects, environmental report (NEPA, Phase I, FAA/FCC, etc.) completion and/or coordination, and pre-requisite data requirements regarding project management aspects of projects related to the environmental and/or civil engineering sciences.

Under the supervision of Chief Structural Engineer, the selected individual will perform design, computations, and evaluations generally associated with structures, and other aspects of the structural engineering discipline across multiple markets, including the commercial and wireless telecommunications industries. Anticipated tasks include but are not limited to:

              • Structural analysis and design utilizing manual calculations, commercially available programs and in-house tools
              • Programming in-house tools for analysis / design, calculation and report automation.

This position is responsible for gathering structural field data for telecommunication structures under the direction of the Compliance Manager and Director. The selected individual(s) will be required to perform inspections as a part of a two-person crew with little supervision. Anticipated tasks include but are not limited to:

          • Ascending telecommunication structures (typically ranging from 10 feet to in-excess of 300 feet of height) to perform structural mappings, maintenance inspections and construction inspections
          • Performing foundation investigations for buried concrete elements to include non-destructive testing, physical probing, hand augering and hand excavation
          • Successfully complete and maintain the required training and certifications to adhere to all government, industry and company standards; including all applicable safety requirements
          • Developing a working knowledge and thorough familiarity with codes and standards relating to telecommunication structures, including TIA/EIA-222 requirements
          • Adhere to all government, industry and safety standards and procedures

Working as part of a team under the direct supervision of a project manager or project engineer, the candidate will be responsible for performing inspections, evaluations, computations, and designs generally associated with civil-site engineering discipline, including but not limited to:

          • Completing spatial layout of telecommunication facilities based on governing municipality zoning requirements
          • Completing and optimizing design of telecommunication facilities from an earthwork, drainage, spatial, construction feasibility, and cost-efficiency perspective

This position will require experience in the structural engineering/inspections field and demonstrated experience performing inspections of telecommunication infrastructure. Career and/or educational experience should establish a familiarity of pre-requisite data requirements for telecommunications structures and experience gathering and/or leading teams in the field aspects of inspection methodology required to obtain such data.

The Project Manager will assist department management with the day to day aspects of field operations and technical document production. This position is responsible for report deliverable compilation, technical data review and assisting with the execution of department protocols, field personnel management and training. Tasks include but are not limited to the following:

          • Work with the project coordinator to proactively track field work completion status, taking action as schedule expectations dictate

Delta Oaks Group is seeking individuals to lead projects and personnel for the Anchor Rod Corrosion Investigation and Protection Program in the telecommunication vertical. Positional responsibilities include project management, technical & safety evaluations, client relations, and supervision of field personnel. This position requires a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the inspection, maintenance, construction, or engineering fields with demonstrated experience in machine excavator operation; OSHA excavation, benching & shoring techniques, and personnel management.

The position will be required to assist with the day to day aspects of the Anchor Rod Corrosion Investigation and Protection Program, supervise & lead field crews, and provide efficient and successful execution of each specific project scope of work. This position is responsible for coordinating with and assisting the Field Operations Manager with operational approaches for field and office procedures, implementing these procedures, and ensuring all associated department production goals (schedule, capacity and quality) are realized. He/She will be responsible to assist with training and retaining staff for the successful completion of these goals.

The selected individual will be expected to apply construction best practices, OSHA standards, personnel management, and collaboration skills to complete Anchor Rod Corrosion Investigation and Protection scopes in the telecommunications vertical. Anticipated tasks include but are not limited to:

Depending on assigned projects and the development of the department and role, this position may be responsible for coordinating with the department director to develop technical and operational approaches for the efficient completion of project and department tasks (including CAD standards and templates) and implementing these procedures on the applicable project. This position will require a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the A&E telecommunications field.

The selected individual will be expected to lead projects from commencement to completion, including the ability to:

          • Demonstrate technical knowledge of basic site-layout, civil, electrical, grounding, and structural aspects of telecommunications facilities
          • Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for telecommunications/civil specifications using computer-assisted drafting (AutoCAD) equipment
          • Manage A&E and Civil development projects from commencement through final permit approval with minimal supervision
          • Research codes and create construction drawings that adhere to various construction, permitting, and zoning regulations for widely varying geographic locations
          • Perform ground-based inspections/audits and related functions at telecommunications sites with limited supervision
          • Coordinate with client representatives, governing agency personnel, and other project stakeholders to determine various project specifics
          • Help develop and maintain AutoCAD standards and adhere to department protocol for drawing setup, publishing, and record keeping
          • Review and QA/QC of assigned tasks completed by other engineering and technical staff
          • Assist younger engineers and drafters regarding site development design and drafting principles

Due to the nature and limited timelines of most projects, the selected individual should be willing and capable of exhibiting the work ethic and social ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment where communication with co-workers and strategic partners is paramount.
