Delta Oaks Group is seeking an individual to lead the Geotechnical Department in the telecommunication, renewable energy, and commercial industries. Positional responsibilities, further detailed below, include but are not limited to various technical evaluations, project management, client management, and administrative support services associated with turnkey engineering projects. This position will require a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in the geotechnical engineering field, demonstrated experience performing geotechnical investigations and analysis, and experience managing engineering teams. Career and/or educational experience establishing a thorough familiarity of geotechnical investigations, as well as, design and analysis of telecommunications structures and commercial developments is required.


The Director is responsible for assisting the Vice President in recruiting, managing, and retaining department personnel, including ensuring that his/her team has the right processes and tools to be successful. He/she is accountable for the operating budget of the department, ensuring that personnel utilization is maximized, and project/production-related expenses are minimized. Additionally, he/she will be responsible for the oversight of technical evaluations, project management, client management, and administrative support services associated with departmental projects. Anticipated tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages and coordinates all aspects of geotechnical production, including the review and further development of standard operating procedures for department deliverables
  • Accountable for overall performance of departmental production, including technical accuracy and pacing
  • Effectively communicate departmental production expectations and track departmental/individual progress towards productivity goals
  • Provide technical oversight and quality control of all departmental deliverables, providing coaching/training as necessary to improve delivered product, and serving as one of the lead technical resources for junior engineers
  • Review/compile department deliverables, including but not limited to geotechnical investigations, supplemental geotechnical reviews, and foundation installation inspections
  • Reviews production costs, product quality, and modifies production processes to maintain and enhance profitable operation of the geotechnical department
  • Reviews and assesses departmental growth plans, ascertaining requirements to meet budgets and develop new clients/markets, requesting changes in the allocation of department budget as required
  • Assist VP with development of an annual business plan and accountability for the execution of strategic initiatives
  • Work in concert with other discipline leads to improve product quality through interdepartmental communication and sharing of technical knowledge
  • Promote client revenue growth by working collaboratively across business (technical) liens to understand client needs and facilitate turn-key service offerings
  • Work with Vice President and Executive Team to establish, retain, and grow client relationships; attending client meetings and/or business development functions as necessary
  • Recruit and retain department personnel through the promotion of company culture
  • Mentor departmental employees as to create a professional environment of innovation, opportunity, development, and continuous improvement that supports company objectives

The Geotechnical Director provides management, leadership, mentoring and empowerment to all employees within the geotechnical department, promoting teamwork and prioritizing resources across teams and projects to ensure department profitability and growth. He/She is responsible for coordinating with the Vice President to develop technical and operational approaches for production processes, implementing these procedures, and ensuring the efficiency and quality of departmental deliverables. The Director should also be adept at developing and managing systems that track departmental production, working with the Vice President as necessary to obtain additional resources to maximize productivity.

 

Mappings Project Manager

Delta Oaks Group is seeking an individual to assist with inspection field operations and production. This position will require experience in the structural engineering/inspections field and demonstrated experience performing structural mappings of telecommunication infrastructure. Career and/or educational experience should establish a familiarity of pre-requisite data requirements for telecommunications structures and experience gathering, leading, and/or training teams in the field aspects of structural mapping methodology required to obtain such data.

The Project Manager will assist department management with the day to day aspects of field operations and technical document production. This position is responsible for report deliverable compilation, technical data review and assisting with the execution of department protocols, field personnel management and training. Tasks include but are not limited to the following:

  • Work with the project coordinator to proactively track field work completion status, taking action as schedule expectations dictate
  • Assist with tracking field crew performance per company expectations, addressing and escalating issues as required
  • Compile/review department deliverable reports, including, but not limited to Tower Mappings, Mount Mappings, Foundation Mappings & Post Construction/Modification Inspections and TIA Inspections
  • Serve as a resource for field crews, responding to inspector queries, issues & concerns
  • Technical Collaboration with Structural & AutoCAD Departments
  • Assist with training field crews regarding technical, safety, and company policy procedures

Project Manager - Geotechnical

Delta Oaks Group is seeking an individual to support our Geotechnical Department on projects in the telecommunications and commercial sectors. Candidates will be assisting with multiple day-to-day operations of specific engineering projects related to our geotechnical engineering team, including project set up, scheduling and coordinating with drilling subcontractors, and tracking/maintaining subcontractor data. Career and/or educational experience should establish a familiarity of pre-requisite data requirements regarding project management aspects of geotechnical and/or construction materials testing (CMT) methodology to obtain such data.


The Project Manager will assist department management and engineers with the day-to-day aspects of geotechnical department operations. This position is responsible for project setups, technical data compilation, and managing all aspects of the subcontractor supply chain. Tasks include but are not limited to the following:

  • Project Setup and maintenance of project trackers
  • Prepare driller quote request and notice to proceed documents
  • Schedule and manage all subcontractor drilling assignments including, but not limited to, ensuring drillers have accurate assignment sheets, boring location plans, and accurate maps / directions to the project
  • Follow-up with drillers to obtain drill dates based on project timelines and client requirements
  • Coordinate with landowners for awarded projects to make access arrangements for proposed drill dates
  • Verification of underground utilities clearance and occasional coordination of private utility clearance
  • Prepare and assist engineers with boring logs and boring layouts
  • Assist engineers in the preparation of geotechnical reports to ensure all necessary data is obtained
  • Coordinate with drillers on shipping soil and rock samples to the laboratories
  • Maintain and manage vendor files to ensure all vendor information, insurances, and documents are up-to-date and executed appropriately

Construction Project Manager

Delta Oaks Group is seeking a Construction Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing bid procurement, project schedules, quality, project close-outs, and safety adherence for awarded construction and maintenance projects in the telecommunications industry. The selected individual will be expected to maintain a working knowledge of vendor contracts, customer contracts, and customer expectations related to telecommunications construction and maintenance projects.

A major component of the selected individual’s role includes managing subcontractor and material supplier resources as well as coordinating and managing project schedules, maintaining benchmark goals, and reviewing & compiling project close-outs to ensure client satisfaction, project continuity and the timely delivery of services. The Construction Project Manager will also be expected to function as a liaison between internal engineering teams, contractors, and field resources, capable of adjusting on the fly to unforeseen site conditions or design changes necessitated by observed site conditions.

The position is responsible for coordinating with department leadership ensuring all associated project goals are realized. Anticipated tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure scope of work and project specifications are in compliance with subcontractor proposals, timelines, project budgets and safety considerations
  • Solicit, compile, and review project pricing proposals

Delta Oaks Group is seeking a candidate to coordinate multiple aspects of projects related to field inspection teams, including travel logistics, scheduling, deliverable compilation, subcontractor management, equipment management, and expense reporting. This position provides support to management staff and inspection crews as necessary to complete various services, ensuring customer expectations are met while controlling cost and contributing to company and department profitability.

This position is responsible for supporting the inspection department management team and the tower infrastructure field inspection teams throughout the United States. The selected individual should be a strong multi-tasker, as field conditions frequently necessitate fast-paced, dynamic work responsibilities to ensure project completion, client satisfaction, and cost efficiency. Strong verbal and written communication skills are also required, as expedited communication with internal (engineering staff, field inspection teams, management, etc.) and external (subcontractors, clients, travel vendors, etc.) project stakeholders are frequently required.

  • Proactively track deliverable status, escalating late/delayed project status as required
  • Maintain data regarding target and completion dates for field work, project status, and other project management metrics into the company database, addressing and escalating issues as required

Delta Oaks Group is seeking individuals to lead projects and personnel for the Anchor Rod Corrosion Investigation and Protection Program in the telecommunication vertical. Positional responsibilities include project management, technical & safety evaluations, client relations, and supervision of field personnel. This position requires a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the inspection, maintenance, construction, or engineering fields with demonstrated experience in machine excavator operation; OSHA excavation, benching & shoring techniques, and personnel management.

The position will be required to assist with the day to day aspects of the Anchor Rod Corrosion Investigation and Protection Program, supervise & lead field crews, and provide efficient and successful execution of each specific project scope of work. This position is responsible for coordinating with and assisting the Field Operations Manager with operational approaches for field and office procedures, implementing these procedures, and ensuring all associated department production goals (schedule, capacity and quality) are realized. He/She will be responsible to assist with training and retaining staff for the successful completion of these goals.

The selected individual will be expected to apply construction best practices, OSHA standards, personnel management, and collaboration skills to complete Anchor Rod Corrosion Investigation and Protection scopes in the telecommunications vertical. Anticipated tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the management and coordination of the day to day aspects of the Anchor Rod Corrosion Investigation and Protection Program
  • Supervising field crews, including technical evaluations, schedule, pacing, and equipment usage in accordance with company guidelines and policies

These services include but are not limited to various tower structural, maintenance, construction and foundation inspections. Career and/or educational experience associated with gathering telecommunication structure field data and the inspection methodology required to obtain such data is a plus.

This position is responsible for gathering structural field data for telecommunication structures under the direction of the Compliance Manager and Director. The selected individual(s) will be required to perform inspections as a part of a two-person crew with little supervision. Anticipated tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Ascending telecommunication structures (typically ranging from 10 feet to in-excess of 300 feet of height) to perform structural mappings, maintenance inspections and construction inspections
  • Performing foundation investigations for buried concrete elements to include non-destructive testing, physical probing, hand augering and hand excavation
  • Successfully complete and maintain the required training and certifications to adhere to all government, industry and company standards; including all applicable safety requirements
  • Developing a working knowledge and thorough familiarity with codes and standards relating to telecommunication structures, including TIA/EIA-222 requirements

  • Ascending telecommunication structures (typically ranging from 10 feet to in-excess of 300 feet of height) to perform structural mappings, maintenance inspections and construction inspections
  • Performing foundation investigations for existing foundation elements including non- destructive testing applications
  • Prepare and review technical reports associated with tower and tower foundation structural components
  • Collaborate with internal CAD personnel regarding details of collected data and the necessary presentation of said data

Delta Oaks Group is seeking an individual to perform various structural engineering analysis and design services, as part of our Structural Engineering Department located in Raleigh, NC.

Under the supervision of Chief Structural Engineer, the selected individual will perform design, computations, and evaluations generally associated with structures, and other aspects of the structural engineering discipline across multiple markets, including the commercial and wireless telecommunications industries. Anticipated tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Structural analysis and design utilizing manual calculations, commercially available programs and in-house tools
  • Programming in-house tools for analysis / design, calculation and report automation.
  • Providing CAD support for the preparation of structural design drawings, or assisting other departments within the company
  • Coordination with field personnel for structure mapping and inspection projects
  • Preparation of engineering reports with recommendations for commercial and telecommunications structures

Structural Engineer II / III

Delta Oaks Group is seeking an individual to perform various structural engineering analysis and design services, as part of our Structural Engineering Department located in Raleigh, NC. The selected individual will perform various structural engineering design/analysis tasks as well as serve as the primary liaison to our infrastructure inspections department regarding cross-discipline structural reporting.


This position is responsible for performing design, computations, and evaluations generally associated with tower structures and other aspects of the structural engineering discipline focused in the wireless telecommunications industry. The position will mesh field exposure to real-world construction and field- related issues with 2-D and 3-D structural design practices of tower infrastructure.
